Capítulo 159: O Dominador Inominável
Standing behind the living room door, Gune's source power vision bloomed.
The powerful piercing characteristics of the source power vision easily penetrated the door in front of him and the iron door at the end of the quiet corridor.
Gune breathed a sigh of relief; it was Vya.
Besides Vya, there was another transcendent.
After opening the iron door, what came into view was Vya, wearing a dark blue spellcaster robe, and a middle-aged man in his early thirties, dressed in a double-breasted gray robe and wearing a black top hat.
"And this is?" Gune looked at Vya and then his gaze fell upon the middle-aged man.
"Dr. Gerard, an expert in biology," Vya said crisply and efficiently.
"This is the grand alchemist we are here to see this time, Gune Lawrence!"
"Good morning, Master Gune." Dr. Gerard removed his hat to pay his respects to Gune. A slight look of astonishment appeared on his face, though it was well concealed.
Before coming here, he had heard Vya mention that Master Gune was very young.
Yet he had not expected him to be this young.
"Good morning, Dr. Gerard," Gune replied.
A moment later, the three of them sat down in the small living room.
"If you hadn't come over, I would have thought you forgot about me here," Gune joked as he poured coffee for Vya.
"There are far too many matters to handle. During this period, the city of Sugg Ruins looks calm, but in secret, several more battles have broken out."
"Dealing with those fellows who rely on concealment abilities to hide in the city of Sugg Ruins?"
"Yes." Vya nodded.
"Those clever fellows all died miserably."
"A few days ago, we deployed a very powerful 'magical item', found quite a few shadow transcendents, and wiped out a large batch of them. Although there are still some slippery fish remaining in the city of Sugg Ruins, finding them is only a matter of time."
"A powerful magical item—that being the case, those fellows were indeed a bit too clever for their own good."
"Magical items sometimes possess miraculous powers that completely transcend conventional rules."
Gune still had considerable trust in the execution capabilities of the Vanguard Corps.
On the Night of Winter's Extinction, a portion of heretics and alien races had been killed, while another batch had been captured.
Using these captured individuals and cooperating with magical items to peel back the layers and find those hiding in the city of Sugg Ruins was entirely feasible.
Pondering this, Vya spoke again.
"In addition, regarding the alchemical experiment you mentioned to me before, the higher-ups attach great importance to it."
"While clearing out those remaining remnants, construction on a new alchemical laboratory has already begun. Its scale will be larger and better than Deep Castle."
"In another three to five days, we will basically be able to move over."
"This time, I brought Dr. Gerard along primarily to see if you have any important matters to hand over on your end."
After a moment of contemplation, Gune looked at Dr. Gerard and slowly spoke.
"Dr. Gerard, how is the construction of your laboratory coming along?"
"Building a laboratory is much simpler than constructing a secret-rune alchemy chamber. Over on my side, everything is fully prepared; we are just waiting for your alchemy," Dr. Gerard replied.
"That's good." Gune nodded gently, a trace of a smile appearing on his face.
"On the Night of Winter's Extinction, Dr. Henry came to find me. By then, his experiments should have achieved a phased breakthrough."
"It's a pity he died at the hands of that corrupted flame demon," Gune sighed softly.
"Dr. Henry was indeed a very dedicated and respectable doctor. He possessed an exceptionally rigorous and meticulous work attitude," Dr. Gerard said, giving Dr. Henry high praise.
"Fortunately, I have recorded all the secret-rune alchemy formulas and methods for that experimental stage."
"At the same time, I still keep backups of all the experimental potions..."
Gune's words caused Dr. Gerard to pause in surprise.
"That means..."
"Yes, you can go and conduct experiments right now." Gune smiled and nodded.
Dr. Gerard was instantly filled with joy.
To be able to witness the birth of secret-rune potions under his own hands—this was a supreme honor.
He was crystal clear on the fact that the top brass of the Vanguard Corps and even the Magnolia Transcendent Association—
Many big figures had cast their gazes upon Master Gune here in the city of Sugg Ruins.
Within the borders of the Magnolia Empire, there were more than a dozen secret-rune alchemy laboratories, but Gune's was the only one making stable progress and steadily approaching the secret-rune potion.
In fact, Dr. Gerard had even heard that because Master Gune had achieved quite a few results here,
the experimental materials and funding allocations for many alchemist masters had been significantly reduced.
On one hand, it was because the funds and materials consumed by those laboratories were indeed colossal, acting truly like bottomless pits.
On the other hand, it was naturally because there was no shortage of alchemist masters who embezzled materials under the guise of research.
Consequently, this caused quite a few alchemist masters to harbor unprovoked hostility toward the newly risen alchemist master named "Gune Lawrence."
Having finished speaking, Gune produced a specialized storage bracelet for experiments and placed it in front of Dr. Gerard.
"More than thirty potions are inside."
Dr. Gerard picked up the storage bracelet, carefully examined it, and nodded solemnly.
"Upon returning this time, I will conduct the experiments as quickly as possible. Once I achieve success, I will come here to report to you."
"I look forward to your good news," Gune replied with a smile.
Having obtained the secret-rune potions, Dr. Gerard did not linger here any longer; he rose and left first.
With the secret-rune potions in hand, he himself was somewhat impatient to begin the experiments.
"The secret-rune potions will soon come forth, and I... must also step up the acquisition of materials," Gune muttered to himself inwardly.
Previously, when he lacked gold pounds, Gune felt that three to fifty thousand gold pounds worth of materials would suffice.
Now, holding goods worth nearly twenty thousand gold pounds that were easily liquidated,
Gune naturally wanted to turn those thirty to fifty thousand gold pounds worth of materials into seventy to eighty thousand.
In any case, no matter how much he bought now, it was pure profit without loss.
"You... aren't busy today?"
Looking at Vya, who was drinking coffee on the sofa while enjoying the warmth of the fireplace, Gune asked.
"I'm taking a day off today; I'll be busy again tomorrow," Vya shrugged.
"This time..."
Gune asked after a brief pause.
"What was the battle outcome?"
Ever since the Night of Winter's Extinction, the only channel through which Gune received news was the Transcendent Daily.
However, detailed information would never be reported in the Transcendent Daily.
Now that Vya had come and had free time today, Gune naturally needed to thoroughly understand the battle results of the Night of Winter's Extinction.
After pondering for a short while, Vya slowly began to speak.
"On that day of the Night of Winter's Extinction, the city of Sugg Ruins was merely a hair's breadth away from total annihilation."
Gune's expression shifted slightly as he listened attentively.
"At that time, there were as many as five transcendent master-level powerhouses in the city of Sugg Ruins."
"We originally thought that would be enough to deal with that Barbarian Sage and the descending evil god's progeny."
"Yet we never imagined that accompanying the Barbarian Sage and the evil god's progeny into the city of Sugg Ruins were as many as twelve transcendent masters of the alien races and heretics. Added to the Barbarian Sage and the evil god's progeny,"
"They possessed a total of fourteen transcendent master-level combat forces."
"What's more, their plan was even more terrifying—they actually attempted to summon the descent of an 'Unnamable Dominator'."
"They even wanted to use certain things sealed beneath the city of Sugg Ruins to bear the will of the 'Unnamable Dominator' within that sea of blood."
"An Unnamable Dominator?" Gune's expression trembled slightly.
"Yes, that entity within the sea of blood is a slumbering Unnamable Dominator," Vya said softly.
If it were an evil god, its power would still follow some traceable rules.
But a Dominator—those were the great beings that had once ruled the stars. Although the reason for their slumber remained unknown,
even in their slumber, they remained terrifying entities that were unnamable, unrecordable, and indescribable. To this day, no one has ever known their true names; people only know them by designations.
Even evil gods were nothing more than their underlings.
The methods of the Dominators, who once ruled the stars, were unimaginably powerful.
From the debris of the Dominator—the "Unnamable Flesh"—Gune had deeply experienced those terrifying and peculiar powers.
There was no warning whatsoever, nor any underlying principle.
To touch it was to die.
It was practically like a death flag.
There was entirely no way to resist; the form in which this power existed completely transcended conventional logic.
"Merely summoning a slumbering Dominator was enough to almost bring about the destruction of the city of Sugg Ruins."
"They truly are unnamable!"
Gune sighed inwardly.
